Technological convergence is when technologies come together and this provides new services for the audience (smartphone- phone, computer, web etc.)

There are two way in which distribution is defined in media;

The first is how the product reaches the audience

The second is the way in which it is distributed and promoted.


Distribution
 Analogue methods are the old media
Digital methods are the new media

Ways in which a media product get out to the public;
Physical (CD)
Streaming (Netflix, On demand I.e Sky and Virgin)
Downloads
Traditional way like the cinema (Digital, analogue and IMAX)
Televisions (Films in the schedule)
Internet-
YouTube
Websites such as Afdah, Pirate bay however they have been blocked the act of 2014


Prosumer-
UGC (User Generated Comment).
For example Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDB
